Kylie understands pregnancy is a very exciting journey but it can also be extremely overwhelming. She recognises the need to care for both the physical and emotional wellbeing of all her patients and will discuss throughout the pregnancy their desires and plans for delivery.
Your pregnancy care with Kylie will start approximately when you are approximately 8-10 weeks pregnant with your first appointment in our Parkville consulting rooms. She will see you through the entire pregnancy, birth and until your 6 weeks postnatal visit. Having a good ongoing relationship with her patients is important to Kylie, therefore she will be the primary care-giver from the beginning to the end of a pregnancy and is on-call for her patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the event of planned leave, she will ensure all her patients are well-cared for by like-minded and esteemed colleagues.
Being a female obstetrician and a mother, Kylie understands the joys and challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. Whether it’s your first pregnancy, complicated medical history, twin pregnancy, previous miscarriages, challenges in conceiving or having a baby later in life - Kylie is compassionate, dedicated and a great listener to support you throughout this journey.
Kylie places great value on working closely with a team of health professionals to give you the best support and management. This includes her own midwife as well as other medical specialists, diabetes educators, dieticians, physiotherapists and counsellors. Most are located near the hospital (Melbourne CBD, Parkville, Carlton and North Melbourne) but also in Melbourne’s eastern & western suburbs to make it more convenient for you.
We understand every pregnancy is different, even for returning patients, therefore Kylie takes the utmost care in looking after everyone and their unique needs. And the best part of this journey is seeing our patients come back with their babies! We feel so honoured to be a part of such an important stage in life for our patients.

FEES
At our Practice, you and your baby’s wellbeing is our utmost priority. The fees you pay for pregnancy care takes into account the 24-hour availability of a private specialist providing expert care and management. Kylie will be your primary care-giver from your first visit until 6 weeks after birth. Please contact our consulting rooms for a detailed explanation of our fees, your Medicare rebate and Health Insurance cover.
Hospital fees and other medical specialists (such as ultrasounds, pathology, dieticians, diabetic educators, paediatricians, anaesthetists, surgical assistants etc) involved in your pregnancy and birth are additional to Kylie’s fees and billed separately.
Private Health Insurance in Australia generally covers your specialist’s delivery fee and your stay in a private hospital. However, it generally does not cover planning and management fees for pregnancy. Please always confirm with your private health insurance provider what your policy covers including private obstetric services in a private hospital and that you have fulfilled any waiting periods. For self-funding and overseas patients, please also contact Frances Perry House for an estimate of hospital fees and charges. A total payment for hospital stay is generally required upfront if you do not have the appropriate private health insurance.
Payment is usually to be made on the day of consultation. We accept cash, credit card, EFTPOS and cheque for payment.
